Specific tags located under one PLC are not auto updating with communication data. The quality is showing as good, but these tags seem to only update throughout the system when the graphic where the object is linked to the tag is opened. Otherwise the values do not seem to update. This is an issue because there are Batch process's that depend on the information contained within these tags to initialize the Batch. I tried having the client set the scan group in the DDESuitlink object for these tags to ActiveAll and redeploy, but this does not seem to have had any effect. I also did notice the clients system is under resourced in regards to the logical cores by about 4-6 cores. They are going to address this in a down window. They may be able to do this at 2 pm EST today so I am looking for a meeting at that time if possible to work on diagnosing the issue should the additional system resources not rectify the issue.

It was unclear whether the original 2023 R2 installation files had also been unblocked at the time of installation. Customer reported that scan groups were configured, but object attributes in Object Viewer are showing bad quality. Customer indicated that their integrator mentioned this setup is based on an "older style" of Modbus communication, with plans to modernize the architecture within the next six months. They are currently troubleshooting within the IDE directly, not via the System Management Console (SMC) or using the more modern OI Server configuration. A follow-up session was scheduled to further investigate the system live and collect diagnostic information, including logs. Key Details: Customer can communicate with controller using a standalone Modbus scanner. Unsure how to replicate the same communication inside Wonderware IDE. This error indicates that the client was unable to complete the request successfully potentially due to: Incorrect syntax in the item name Communication layer issue between the client and the OI Server/Bridge Misconfiguration in the ModbusEnetBridge object or associated scan group IP/Port mismatch or port being blocked Notes: This result further confirms that the issue is not isolated to the IDE configuration but may be systemic to the communication path or ModbusEnetBridge setup.

OI Server started having random failures 4 to 6 weeks ago. The failure is the NIC (virtual network interface card) no longer works. The OS continues to run. The OI server continues to run, although all it does is generate thousands of errors like "The xxxxx message timed out", "Failed to Connect to...", "Device connection attempt to nn.nn.nn.nn timed out, socket closed". The Windows Event logs are clean - well, plenty of stuff in them but no warnings or errors along the lines of "NIC is dead". So I'm getting no clues in the logs, the OS continues to run, the DA server continues to run, but the NIC can not reach anything. My VMWare find no errors, and are convinced that something on the OS/Application side is "locking up" or "corrupting" the NIC. It never did before. And it doesn't do it on our other 2 DA servers that we run at our remote plant sites. Please help us determine the cause of the failures, or eliminate possible causes like configuration. Our VMWare team specifically asks us to: "When running Wonderware on a Windows 2016 virtual machine running the Vmxnet 3 adaptor we experience an outage of the NIC card only. Everything else on the operating system is fine." When the DA server no longer can communicate with PLCs we lose all data collection until the server is rebooted. Please help.

have an aveva insight application that used to work (till about 20 days ago). It routes data from OPC and publishes it for access via insight. I'm not an expert at these systems. The OCMC in the help about says it's version 2022.0713.4211.1. I tried repairing the installation with the old install file --> No improvements. I tried installing with the current download from online.wonderware.com. In the OCMC, I see the data that is collected from the OPC server refresh. --> I think the OCMC is collecting the data. The Log file shows a couple errors I cannot figure out: including: Publisher failed to configure store/forward 'C:\ProgramData\ArchestrA\Historian\IDAS\SF\LOCALHOST\' for LOCALHOST, error = 138 (Failed to write to Store/Forward lock file) [CIMSERVER; StorageNode.cpp; 1238] Publisher failed to restart acquisition, error = 138 (Failed to write to Store/Forward lock file) [CIMSERVER; IdasServer.cpp; 3095] I have tried deactivating the OI.Gateway. and stopping the wonderware suitelink. Then resume the gateway and restart the process. I have tried to attached the log file with the last few hours of entry. the system rejected the log file so I changed the extension from *.aaLGX to *.txt

The old server is running Wonderware 2014; the new server is running System Platform 2020 R2 SP1 and using OI drivers. Have also tried just copying the aacfg file using https://knowledge.insourcess.com/?title=Visualization_and_Supervisory_Control%2FDA_%2F%2F_OI_Servers%2FMaximize_%26_Optimize%2FTN_DAS164_How_To_Copy_the_Configuration_of_a_DA_Server_From_One_Machine_to_Another as a guide. Have used this same procedure successfully for ABCIP and MBTCP drivers. For some reason the SIDIRECT drivers will not migrate. OI SIDIRECT configuration is blank after performing "User Another Configuration Set" and then reactivating. Do you have any idea why the MBTCP and ABCIP archives and use another config set would have worked successfully but the SIDIRECT did not work? Have performed refresh and also rebooted server, but these did not work.
