When trying to shelve an alarm, you receive an error similar to

This could be caused by several reasons...

  1. Shelving is not enabled in the Alarms and Events Configuration or the priority is too high.
  2. Shelving is not enabled in the Area
  3. When shelving from Object Viewer, a reason for shelving is not given.
