Details

There are two tools built into InTouch Machine Edition that can be used for troubleshooting.

1) Database Spy allows you to view the current value of a tag.

2) LogWin allows you to see error and informational messages as they occur.

Database Spy - See data from ITME running on Development Machine:
  1. Open InTouch Machine Edition on Development station.
  2. At the bottom of the development window you will see a section labeled Database Spy.  If this is not visible, go to the View tab and select Database Spy.
  3. Enter the name of the Tag that you want to view.
  4. Select the Continuous option if you would like to see the tag update constantly.
Database Spy - See data from ITME running on Runtime Panel:
  1. Open InTouch Machine Edition on Development station.
  2. On the Home tab select Database Spy.
  3. If you are not already connected to the panel you will be asked to enter the IP Address of the remote panel.
  4. Enter the name of the Tag that you want to view.
  5. Select the Continuous option if you would like to see the tag update constantly.
LogWin
  1. Open InTouch Machine Edition on Development station.
  2. On the Home tab select LogWin.
  3. If you are not already connected to the panel you will be asked to enter the IP Address of the remote panel.
  4. From the Log menu, select what logs you would like to see.

The following Log options can be useful:
    1. Options > Insert Date/Time - This will display the date and time when a message occurs.  This is useful if you intend to leave LogWin running over an extended period.
    2. Log > Tags - Allows you to enter the names of the Tags whose messages you are interested in.
    3. Options > Save On Disk - You will ussually want to leave this option disabled, unless you need to store logs for troubleshooting purposes.  If left turned on, this could easily fill storage.
