TN IT105 WIN-911- How to Import InTouch tags

Description

This article discusses how to import Wonderware InTouch tags into the Win911 Remote Alarming Software.

Instructions

We must first extract the InTouch tag database from the InTouch application into a .csv format using the InTouch DBDump Utility.

We can now open the WIN-911 Configurator  to Create an InTouch Data Source where we can import the tags.

We must verify the InTouch Program Path is correct.

We can now import the InTouch tags that were previously exported from InTouch.

The system will now show all tags that were imported.  If you only want to import tags that are configured to have alarms you can check the "Show only enabled Alarms" box and press "Refresh" . You can now pick the tags you want to import into WIN-911 by  highlighting the tag and press "Add".

You can verify the tags have been imported by selecting Configure\Analog Definitions and/or Digital Definitions

You can pick a tag to verify the imported configuration.

Run WIN-911 Scan & Alarms runtime component to verify that WIN-911 is communicating with the running InTouch application. When a point is in an alarm state it will be displayed in the Alarm Monitor.  Note that InTouch Window Viewer must be running on the same PC as the WIN-911 software.  You can now configure the Schedule, Users and Alarm methods as defined in the WIN-911 documentation.
