The System Management Server is an encryption service that was introduced in System Platform in order to encrypt intranet Suitelink communications. Doing so makes your environment more secure when it comes to System Platform software communicating from node to node. However, in System Platform 2023, you now have the option to encrypt communications while accepting unencrypted communications from third party software. For example, Win 911 uses a Suitelink connection in order to capture alarm data and provide its functionality to customer. In order for certain programs to use Suitelink while the SMS is active, you may need to enable mixed mode, here's how:
1. Open the Configurator and navigate to the Common Platform>System Management Server section
2. Click "Advanced" and then the "Communications" tab
3. Check "Accept non-encrypted Suitelink connections. This will enabled mixed mode after a reboot
