Platform Partner Status shows as “Unknown”

Details

When deploying platforms with their respective redundant engines, the AppEngine’s “.PartnerStatus” shows as “Unknown” in the Object Viewer inside the ArchestrA IDE.

In this scenario, the following is true:

Under Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Firewall, the Firewall has been turned on.  Due to our security in this scenario, we are unable to turn off the Firewall.

Resolution:

There are necessary ports that need to be open for communication to exist between redundant engines on different platforms.   This is only necessary if we have firewalls that are forced on.

TCP Ports:

30000

30001

32568

In the Firewall, we would create 3 “Inbound Rules” for these ports by selecting Advanced Settings in the Windows Firewall.

A redeploy might be necessary to test this.   However, “.PartnerStatus” should now hopefully come back with a value of “Standby” with good quality, rather than “Unknown”.

The example below shows the Object Viewer with the PartnerStatus attribute shown, rather than results of the Inbound Port changes.
