TN - 1443 Installing Microsoft Updates with no Internet Access

Details

It is recommended to install Microsoft Updates on new hardware prior to installing Aveva System Platform.  Plant systems are often on air-gapped networks.  There is no access to the internet to automatically download Microsoft Updates.

The update files may be downloaded from another computer with internet access.  Use the following link to access the latest Microsoft Updates.  Download and then copy the .MSU files to the system on the plant network.

The updates are cumulative and specific to the products listed.  Include the date and product in the search to narrow the results.

It is best to check the Aveva Security Central web page before installing the updates.  Aveva does test each update for compatibility.  The following is a link to Security Central.

Open the update .MSU extension files to install the updates on each server and client machine.  The installer will confirm the update when complete.
