TN - 1393 Deleting Tags from AVEVA Insight

When deleting tags from your AVEVA Insight solution, it is important to realize that by selecting the row that contains your tag, and hitting delete will NOT delete your tag(s).  There is a process to how to delete a tag which does NOT involve removing the Protection of the spreadsheet.  

However, there is a COLUMN called “Delete? Type Yes” in the Excel spreadsheet with your tag dictionary. 

1)      Go to the Administration portion within your Insight Solution. 

2)      Select the Tag Dictionary. 

3)      Locate the Tags to the delete and find the “Delete? Type Yes” column.       

a.       “Once you put in YES to the tags to delete.   Then Hit Save.  

4)      When you hit “Save”, the Plug-in changes to show the following.   Type in “Delete” and then hit the Button “Yes, Delete Tags”.   

5) The newly deleted tag should not show up after deletion.
