This article from InSource shows how to modify a Wonderware InTouch application ini file to make the application "Read Only". This will eliminate the need for maintaining a seperate copy of the application for "ReadOnly" machines.

Note: The tech note describes an approach that is useful but not officially supported. Make sure to backup all InTouch applications before following the instructions below.
- After deploying the application, navigate to the location from the screenshot below on the client that you wish to run the "ReadOnly" application on.
Replace "Demo1-AlarmDemo" with the name of your Intouch application: - Locate the InTouch.ini file in the application folder and right click on it and choose edit.
- Add the following feature line to the bottom on the Intouch.ini file as in the screenshot below:
MarkAppReadOnly=1 - Save the modified Intouch.ini file to a seperate location:
- Right click on the saved Intouch.ini file and choose "Copy".
- Paste it into the application directory:
- Choose "Replace the file in the destination".
- If you have previously launched WindowViewer from the user account you may need to also make the change to the InTouch.ini file at the location below:
