MSDTC Settings for AVEVA Work Tasks (Skelta BPM)

Description

When installing AVEVA Work Tasks, the Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) needs to be configured properly. This article will walk you through configuring the MSDTC for Archestra Workflow.

Details

When installing Work Tasks, you may be prompted with the following message:

To overcome this issue, go to Administrative Tools - Component Services. (dcomcnfg from run command). From there navigate to Component Services - Computers - My Computer - Distributed Transaction Coordinator - Local DTC. Right click on Local DTC and choose Properties. 

Navigate to the Security tab and choose to enable the following items. 

  • Network DTC Access
  • Allow Remote Clients
  • Allow Inbound
  • No Authentication Required
  • Allow Outbound
  • Enable XA Transactions

After clicking apply, MSDTC will restart. At this point appropriate MSDTC setting should be in place for use with AVEVA Work Tasks.
