[ISS Support Case] Configuring OPC UA on Plant SCADA to communicate with our dynamic video wall.
Last updated: October 17th, 2025Description
We require support to assist with configuring OPC UA on Plant SCADA to communicate with our dynamic video wall. We are utilizing Plant SCADA 8.50 Update 10. We have configured our Primary Citect server: Firewall allowances opened for our inbound port (48031). Outbound not blocked. Connected to System Management Server Good Security Roles setup Good Computer Setup: Password assigned and Runtime Manager As A Service checked Good Encryption enabled with encryption set to mixed mode Good CAN connect to our server via ProSys OPC UA Explorer. Certs installed. Good Issue: CANNOT Browse tags in project. Clicking on Browse does not display any tags Bad We are using Matrikon OPC UA browser to test, server to server communication, and with the Video Wall server attempting to connect and browse variable tags on Plant SCADA Primary I/O server.

I am trying to communicate with a Siemens S7-1200 PLC using Plant SCADA 2023. Ive installed the S7TCP driver and was able to communicate using Symbolic Addressing (e.g. Tag_1, StartPump3, FlowRate, etc.). However, due to how the PLC was programmed, we have to use Absolute Addressing (e.g. %Q3, %QW1, %I9, %IW7, %DB20.DBD0, etc.). Can the S7TCP driver support Siemens Absolute Addressing?
