How to use the Adobe ActiveX in InTouch to display documents

This Tech Note will walk you through using the Adobe Acrobat Reader ActiveX in InTouch to display a PDF document that may be a schematic for a piece of equipment In this example we will display a SQL Installation Guide. It is also contingent that you have installed Adobe Acrobat Reader on the machine.

- You first need to make the Adobe Acrobat Reader ActiveX available in InTouch. Click on the below menu option.
- The Wizard/ActiveX Installation menu should appear as seen below. Scroll down to Adobe PDF Reader in the Available Active X Controls then highlight this and click the Install button.
- When you click on the Active Control Installation the Adobe PDF Reader should now be available as seen below.
- Create a new InTouch window and the click on the Wizard hat as seen below.
- You will now place the Adobe PDF Reader ActiveX and a button on the newly created Window as seen below.
- Double click the button and then click on the Touch Pushbuttons - Action button. The Script editor will appear and then click on the Insert ActiveX button.
- The ActiveX Control Browser menu appears and then select the below option then click the OK button.
- A scripting line will appear in the scripting editor and replace the String text with the path to where your document is located. You will then need to add a semi colon at the end to complete the script. Click the OK button.
- In WindowMaker switch to Runtime and click your button. Upon clicking this your document will appear as seen below.
