How to create a Managed InTouch application (InTouchViewApp) within the Archestra IDE.
Resolution
Creating a new InTouchViewApp template
- Open the Archestra IDE by going to Start > Programs > Wonderware > Archestra IDE.
- Connect to your Galaxy.
- Within the IDE go to the Template Toolbox and expand the System Folder.
- Find the InTouchViewApp template object.
- Right click on this object and select New > Derived Template.
- A new InTouchViewApp template will be created, name this as appropriate.
- A small x will appear on the new on the new template because it has not been configured.
Configuring the new InTouchViewApp template
- Double click on the template you created.
- If creating a brand new InTouch application, select the first option:
- For the Application Name, enter the name to use for this application. This will be the name displayed on the client workstation when viewing the available applications in InTouch Application Manager.
- There is an option shown for “InTouchView application”. Select this option if your remote PC will be using an InTouch for System Platform license.
- Enter a description for your application.
- Click Next to create the application.
- IF importing an existing Stand Alone InTouch application, select the second option:
- For the Application Path, browse to the folder where the application is stored. If this is a valid path the Next button will become available.
- If you are unsure of the Path, click the Find Applications checkbox, and then search for your application. If possible narrow down the search by entering an initial path into the “Search root:” field.
- For the Application Name, enter the name to use for this application. By default the application’s current name will be displayed. This will be the name displayed on the client workstation when viewing the available applications in InTouch Application Manager.
- Enter a description for your application.
- Click Next to import the application.
- For the Application Path, browse to the folder where the application is stored. If this is a valid path the Next button will become available.
