When saving a Connection(s) file failing to add .cfg to the file name, can corrupt the ConfigFile registry key.

This issue and resolution is addressed in TN WW187 WWClient will not allow a connection to be saved.

For 64-bit environments the wwclient ConfigFile key can be found in the following path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Wonderware\wwclient\Config

Things to remember:
The ConfigFile key gets created once a configuration is successfully saved.
You must add .cfg manually to the file name when saving.

If you are unable to address this issue via the registry you can modify and Load the following Connection(s) file:

wwClientSampleConfig.cfg

From a text editor you can update the access name components and tagnames / register references manually.

Once saved you can Load the Connection(s) file.
