Compatibility Advisory: MES Connector v7.0 and MES 2023 R2

This advisory addresses a known configuration failure when attempting to use MES Connector v7.0 within an MES 2023 R2 and Work Tasks 2023 R2 environment.

The Issue

Users may encounter a specific error during the configuration of the MES Connector, even after both the MES Extension and the MES Connector have been successfully installed. The system incorrectly reports that the "Extension is not installed," preventing further setup.

Root Cause: Version Incompatibility

The current versions of MDM and the MES Connector are not designed to support the 2023 R2 release cycle.

Specifically:

MDM 6.0 and MES Connector 7.0 are incompatible with MES 2023 R2 and Work Tasks 2023 R2.

Currently, MES Connector 7.0 is only validated for use with:

MES 2023.

Work Tasks 2023 (including SP1 and SP1 P01).

Model Driven MES (MDM) 6.0

Solution Steps:

Resolution and Roadmap

To resolve this incompatibility, users must wait for the release of updated components compatible with the R2 architecture.

MDM 7.0: Scheduled for release in March 2026.

New MES Connector: A dedicated connector for MES 2023 R2 / Work Tasks 2023 R2 is expected to be available in April 2026.
