Description

Sometimes, the machine hosting the licenses does not have internet access. AVEVA has an “Offline” mode, where you can still activate/deactivate any license.

Problem Description:

You will need access to a machine that does have internet access, but it doesn’t need to be the License Server machine.

Solution:

Open the Enterprise License Manager

Click on the gear icon to see the “Activation Settings” page, and change that to Offline Activation:

Click on your server from the server list, and you should see any activated license along with the top-right button showing “offline activation”:

Click Add License

Click the ... button located to the right of Browse license file

Browse to and double click your license file

Check the box next to your license and click Activate.

The license will appear in your list right away, with the status of “Pending Activation Request”. You’ll also notice the “offline activation” button turn yellow:

Select the Offline Activation drop down, and click “Request Activation”:

Hit yes on the confirmation message. After a few seconds, you’ll see a “send-” file starting to download:

You’ll take that file over to the machine that has internet connection, and upload it to licenseactivation.wondwerware.com; put in the captcha (case sensitive), and hit Upload File:

After a few seconds, you’ll see a “recv-” file start to download. You’ll take that file back to the License Server machine, and this time click the “Receive Activation” button from the top-right drop down and upload your new .sync file:

After a few seconds, you’ll see the status of the license in the list change to “Activated”:
