This Tech Note will walk you through creating the Historical Alarm Database using the AlarmDBLogger.

  1. Open the AlarmDBLogger utility via the Start menu as seen below.
  2. The AlarmDBLogger utility appears below and click on the Settings button.
  3. The below Configuration editor appears and you will need to click the down arrow to point where your SQL Server is. If it’s local then choose that option or the appropriate computer on your network. You will need to the type the SQL Systems Administrator password in the User Info then click the Test Connection Button.
  4. The below screen will appear if configured correctly stating it’s connected to SQL but the Alarm Database isn’t present. Click OK.
  5. Click the Create Button and the below Success Window will appear. Click the Next Button.
  6. Click the Next Button.
  7. Make sure the Normal Application Radio button is selected then click the Finish button.
  8. Click the Start button for alarms to be delivered into the Alarm Database.
