[ISS Support Case] How to back up an application
Last updated: October 17th, 2025Description
A customer reached out with a question on how to back up their InTouch application. We began troubleshooting by determining whether they were working with an InTouch 2017 Update 3 standalone application or a managed application within the IDE. During the investigation, it was determined that the system was not a managed application. This conclusion was based on the fact that when attempting to launch through the IDE, the system failed to acquire a license. We then verified in the Application Manager that the application in use was a standalone InTouch application, as the plant name was displayed there. The system in question is air-gapped, so support was provided entirely over the phone. The customer required this information to provide to one of their sales representatives, who needed to evaluate licensing requirements for an upgrade and migration to System Platform 2023 R2.
