[ISS Support Case] Cannot access topic 'ViewStream2 Start application "HISTDATA.EXE"
Last updated: May 4th, 2026Description
Direct Email: . I did have one issue that popup up when it was loading WindowViewer. I have attached a screen shot. I was able to answer No and it went on to our Home Screen. It did appear that I was receiving data from the PLC that this is attached to but I did not have an operator available to try anything from the HMI, will do that Monday. Message was "cannot access topic 'ViewStream2' for Access Name 'histdataviewstr' Start application "HISTDATA.EXE"

Trying to import a custom .NET Control into the application. After importing the necessary DLL files, the control can be embedded into the Symbol Editor. But when trying to embed that symbol into WindowMaker, it shows a Red X. There was another issue as well: When trying to import the control and its dependencies, everything appeared to work and import. But in order to get it to the point where the control could be embedded into the Symbol editor, every dependency had to be imported manually instead of coming in with the initial import.
