[ISS Support Case] Application Specific Configs Use Which WIN.INI file in an TSE, USER or System
Last updated: October 17th, 2025Description
Direct email: . I wanted to clarify which WIN.INI file multi monitor settings need to go in. Do recall that this is on a Server w/ThinManager and 5 total runtime clients. Only clients 1 and 5 use multimonitor. With that, does adding these settings to the WIN.INI file in C:\WINDOWS affect all 5 of the runtime applications? If so, should I only put the settings in the local user WIN.INI in C:\Users\[username]\Local\Wonderware\? I ask b/c I thought that I read somewhere that the C:\WINDOWS location serves as global settings for all applications; whereas, the user settings are user/app specific
