  • Applies to: All versions of Wonderware software

Details

Microsoft has released a set of updates for “Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities”. These updates have an issue that is causing Wonderware Historian to fail. There are also reports of it causing a variety of problems related to Device Integration and Application Server deployments.

Schneider Electric highly recommended these Updates not be applied to systems running their products. Below is the latest list of updates that are known to cause instability issues.

KB4056896, KB4056890, KB4056892, KB4056895, KB4056898 and KB4056899

Since that time, Schneider Electric has successfully tested Microsoft's recently-released KB4057401, KB4057402, KB4057142 and KB4073291, and have confirmed they resolve the instability issues reported in this Tech Alert.

Schneider Electric has updated Tech Alert 287, which further explains the issue and has updated the recommendations if one of the Microsoft updates have been installed. Please review the Tech Alert below for more details.
