Start by listing the tag(s) that need to be logged to the Historian. Open the trend worksheet by selecting Insert | Trend from the InTouch ME menu.
Configure the Historian connection by click on the Historian Configuration... button.
Enter the Historian server name to replace localhost. The user needs to be a member of the aaAdminstrators group. Leave the default for the gateway host and port. Click on the OK button. Save the trend worksheet when complete.
A connection is made to the Historian using the Database Gateway provided by InTouch ME. Copy the installer from the development workstation to the panel PC. The GatewaySetup installer is located in the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Wonderware\InTouch Machine Edition v8.0\Redist\DatabaseGateway
Run the GatewaySetup exe file to install the program on the panel PC.
Next startup the Studio Database Gateway, if it is not already running. You will see the icon on the task bar when running.
The Studio Database Gateway application file location is shown above.
Double-click on the Studio Database Gateway from the hidden icons in the lower right of the task bar.
This window allows the user to monitor the logging. Select Log | Options from the menu.
Select All Messages, Message Type, and Date/Time from the dialog. Click the OK button.
Run the InTouch ME project to launch the runtime application.
The data insert status will be displayed. You may also check the SMC on the Historian.
All of the InTouch ME trend tags will be listed under MDAS/Manual Tags.
Verify the data from the trend client. The tags are logging as shown below.
