TN DAS160 Importing User Defined Types and Instances from Modern PLCs into Wonderware System Platform

Description

This article from InSource shows the capability of Wonderware's Next Generation communication software called Operational Integration Servers. The latest version of these servers can import PLC User Defined Types (UDT) and associated instances directly from a PLC on-line or from an export of the PLC program. These structures are imported directly into a System Platform Application Server Galaxy model where the chosen templates and instances are created and IO is auto assigned to the proper drivers. This includes PLC families like Control Logix, Modicon and Siemens.
