TN - AppSrv - 26090314 How to Change the Password of the Galaxy Administrator Account When Using OS Security

Last updated: September 3rd, 2026

Description

  • Author: Dan Hojecki
  • Published: September 3rd, 2026

Details:

  • Document Version: 001
  • Applies to Version(s): 2017 and newer

Description

After enabling OS security, the default galaxy Administrator account remains enabled by design. For security purposes, users may wish to change the account's password at any point in the future. When attempting to do so however, the option is greyed out and unavailable.

This is by design, as OS security does not allow the changing of individual account passwords.

Solution Steps:

The only option is to switch the galaxy back to galaxy security, change the password, then switch back to OS security.
