Installed Historian and Historian Client 10.0 on a new machine, but when trying to log in with the wwAdmin account an error comes up saying that the login failed.
Product Version: 10.0
OS: Win 2008 32 bit
Tested logging in by opening the SQL Management Console and using SQL Authentication. This failed also. As such, we know that the SQL Authentication is not working, and this is why historian client cannot connect. Logged into the SQL Management Console via Windows Authentication (Logged in as administrator), right clicked the Server Name and went to Properties. Under Security we turned on Sql Authentication and Windows Authentication option (aka Mixed Mode). Once this was done we right clicked the server name and chose to restart. Once this was done Historian Client was able to connect. This issue is caused by SQL Server not being installed according to Wonderware's recommended settings. The following technote shows the correct install steps: https://wdnresource.wonderware.com/s.../1/t002451.htm
