Customer called in wanting to know if there was a file you could modify to set ActiveFactory trend's server list. This way he could distribute the file to other people without needing to setup each server on each computer.
Product Version: 9.2
OS: Win 2003
It turns out you MIGHT be able to move the servers list between computers, but you'll have to test it out to see if this works. This is not a supported procedure. The list of servers is actually stored in an encrypted XML file. We can try backing up this file on the target computer and replacing it with a completed server list from your own computer, but we cannot guarantee it will work. It looks as though this list is saved on a per user basis, so even if you copy this file to another user/computer it may not work. The file in question is servers.xml, and is located in: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Wonderware\ActiveFactory As I said, I would backup the servers.xml file on the target computer just incase before you attempt this. If this does not work, you will need to manually add the servers on each computer.
