027795 - Customer is unable to connect to data server from AF Trend

Problem

The customer is using Active Factory trend and is unable to conect to his server on one computer. He gets an error saying "Remote Server 404 not found"

Solution

The customer had two problems in his settings. He had Integrated Security turned on, which means that it will use his windows login as his username/password, but he didn't want this to be the case. The second problem was he had "Use HTTP" selected which uses an HTTP connection to connect to the historian. This is an optional feature for the historian and is not installed by default. Once we turned this off everything worked correctly.
