TN ITrac100 Configuration of a New IntelaTrac Database

Description

This technote steps through the configuration of a new Intelatrac database.  The database needs to be built and configured as a first step before installing the client or server software components.

Details

A blank database needs to be created from SQL Server Management Studio.  Right click on Databases to select New Database....

Fill in the Database name with a name of your choosing.  Leave all of the default settings.  Click the OK to create the new database.  Note:  Do not proceed with the Intelatrac installation disk until after the blank database has been created in SQL Server.

 

Next run the DatabaseScript.exe application located in the following folder found on the Intelatrac installation disk:

 

\IntelaTrac 5.0.2\Install\Products\DatabaseScripts

 

The following dialog box opens.

Select the ellipsis button to create a connection string.

Select the option for Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server.  Click the Next >> button.

Fill in the server name, log on info, and database name.  Click the Test Connection button to verify the connection.

Click the Execute button to complete the install of the new database.

Check to be sure the scripts ran successfully as indicated below the Execute button above.  The client and server software components may now be installed.
