    Course Description

    The InTouch for System Platform 2014 - Part 2 course is a 3-day, instructor-led class designed to

    provide a continued understanding of the features and functionality of how the ArchestrA

    Application Server provides visualization for your plant galaxy data using ArchestrA Symbols by

    seamlessly integrating the InTouch for System Platform software.

    This course is a continuation of the subjects and themes of the InTouch for System Platform 2014

    - Part 1 course and continues to illustrate the use of visualization tools in the Wonderware

    Application Server to provide a Human Machine Interface (HMI) utilizing connectivity to the

    Galaxy, graphic symbols, animations, scripting features, and functionality found in InTouch

    WindowMaker, ArchestrA Symbols, the ArchestrA Symbol Editor and QuickScript.NET.

    The course uses lectures and hands-on labs to provide a fundamental understanding and

    reinforce the knowledge of how to apply alarm, trending, and history controls for visualization, and

    how to secure an InTouch application

     

    Objectives

    Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

    Create and deploy InTouch Managed applications using the ArchestrA IDE

    Create ArchestrA Symbols

    Embed ArchestrA Symbols in Automation Objects and reference the object attributes

    Use ArchestrA Symbols in a containment relationship

    Work with the ArchestrA Alarm Client control for alarm visualization

    Work with the ArchestrA Trend Client control for real-time trending

    Work with the Historian Client Trend control for historical trending

    Apply ArchestrA security in an InTouch Managed application

    Audience

    Application developers, engineers, system integrators, and other individuals who need to develop

    InTouch applications for System Platform applications

     

    Prerequisites

    Completion of the InTouch 2014 For System Platform - Part 1 course

    Completion of the Application Server course

    Manufacturing industry experience

    Some graphical design experience is helpful

    Module 1 – Introduction

    Section 1 – Course Introduction

    This section identifies the objectives and agenda for the InTouch for System Platform 2014 –

    Part 2 course.

     

    Section 2 – System Platform Overview

    This section provides an overview of the components of the Wonderware System Platform and

    the benefits of an integrated ArchestrA architectural environment.

     

    Section 3 – ArchestrA Visualization Overview

    This section introduces ArchestrA graphics, creating a managed InTouch application, and the

    Situational Awareness Library.

     

    Section 4 – System Requirements and Licensing

    This section provides a detailed explanation of the system requirements necessary for the

    Wonderware System Platform and the Licensing Model.

    Module 2 – Advanced ArchestrA Graphic Functionality

    Section 1 – Point Animations and Sweep Angles

    This section describes the animation link for point animations and explains how to work with

    Sweep angles for Arcs and Pies.

     

    Section 2 – Trend Pen Animations

    This section describes Trend Pen animations and explains how to work with Trend Pens.

     

    Section 3 – Alarm Severity Animation

    This section reviews alarm severities and introduces animation links for Alarm Severities and

    Attributes.

     

    Module 3 – Client Controls

    Section 1 – Introduction to Client Controls

    This section describes how to import client controls and explains their use with ArchestrA

    graphics.

     

    Section 2 – The Alarm Client as a .Net Control

    This section describes the Alarm Client .Net control methods and properties for both live

    alarms and alarms in a database.

     

    Section 3 – Historian Client Trend .Net Control

    This section describes the HistClient Trend .Net control, which is available for use in ArchestrA

    symbols.

     

    Module 4 – Advanced Data Navigation

    Section 1 – Show Symbol and Hide Symbol Animations

    This section provides a brief overview of ShowSymbol and HideSymbol animations.

     

    Section 2 – ShowGraphic Script Function

    This section provides a brief overview of the ShowGraphic Script function.

     

    Module 5 – Symbol Wizard

    Section 1 – Introduction to the Symbol Wizard

    This section introduces the concepts of building a Symbol Wizard Symbol.

     

    Section 2 – Symbol Wizard, Scripts, and Custom Properties

    This section describes the proper usage of scripts and custom properties within a Symbol

    Wizard Symbol.

     

    Module 6 – Security

    Section 1 – Review of Security Basics

    This section provides a brief review of ArchestrA Security, Authentication Modes, General and

    Operational permissions, Security classifications, the security audit trail, and InTouch security related tags and script functions.

     

    Section 2 – Signed Writes

    This section reviews Signed Writes and explains Signed Write script functionality.

     

    Section 3 – Signed Alarms

    This section reviews Signed Alarms functionality and introduces the SignedAlarmAck() script

    function.

     

    Section 1 – Runtime Language Switching Overview

    This section provides a brief overview of how to configure multiple languages and how to

    switch between languages at Runtime.
