TN Appsvr132 Configuring the ArchestrA Reporting in Information Server when SQL Reporting Services is configured with SSL security

Description

Once SQL Reporting Services has been configured with SSL security Wonderware Information Server will be unable to configure the ArchestrA Reporting. This document walks through the necessary steps to remove SSL from  SQL Reporting Services.

Details

This problem can be identified by going into the SMC Log VIewer after the failed configuration of ArchestrA Reporting and looking for the message below:

 

Configuration failed. 
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The operation you are attempting requires a secure connection (HTTPS). Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.SecureConnectionRequiredException: The operation you are attempting requires a secure connection (HTTPS). 

 

Once you have confirmed the message above you can proceed to correct this problem by following the instructions below:

 

 

Step 1)

Launch the SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager and connect as in the screenshot sbelow:

Step 2)

Navigate to the Web Service URL  and click the Advanced button beside the SSL certificate as below:

Step 3)

Remove all entries from the "Multiple SSL Identities" section by clicking the Remove buton as below:

Step 4)

Click the Report Manager URL and then click the Advanced button as below:

Step 5)

Remove all entries from the "Multiple SSL Identities" section by clicking the Remove button as below:

Step 6)

Navigate to the following directory and locate the file "rsreportserver.config"

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer

 

Step 7) Double click the rsreportserver.config now to open it and search for secureconnectionlevel as below:
