Details

In older versions of InTouch, it is a common practice to migrate Standalone applications to another system by finding the location of the application folder, copying it, loading it onto the new system, and then using the Find Applications feature in InTouch Application Manager.

For the new Modern applications in System Platform 2014 R2, this method is not applicable, because a database is also created in Microsoft SQL Server to host the ArchestrA graphics that are embedded in the application. In order to copy both the application and the corresponding database, you need to use the new Export and Import features to ensure that everything is migrated correctly.

On the system you are moving the application to, open InTouch Application Manager and import the Modern application's .aaPKG file.

Browse to Modern.jpg

After selecting your .aaPKG file for the Modern application, go through the import steps by defining a path where you want the application stored, specifying a directory name and choosing a name for the imported application. The import procedures will start and upon completion you will see the imported application on your list. This is confirmation that it has been successfully migrated.
